The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team are in good spirits after a positive end to their private Misano test and are ready to tackle the upcoming double header. They have made their way to the MotorLand Aragón for Round 12 of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship.

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team is looking forward to resume racing action after a short break following the Austrian GP and their private Misano test. They used the few days off to prepare for the upcoming double header, starting with the GP held at the MotorLand Aragón.

Fabio Quartararo holds 14th place in the championship standings as he arrives in Alcañiz. He is expecting a difficult weekend in Aragon but is keen to put his best foot forward, especially since he can try out the new items he approved during last week’s private Misano test. El Diablo’s best premier-class result there up till now is his top-5 finish in 2019.

Álex Rins left the private Misano test with a positive feeling and this week aims to build on the work he has done there. The Spaniard holds 21st place in the overall rankings and is eager to score points. He achieved great success at the Aragon track, having secured a victory in Moto3 in 2013, a second place in Moto2 in 2015, and a back-to-back victory and second place in MotoGP in 2020 at the Aragon and Teruel GP.

The MotorLand Aragón circuit was added to the MotoGP calendar in 2010 and, though briefly missing from the line-up in 2023, made its return this year. The track is situated near the town of Alcañiz, a few hours’ drive from Barcelona. The fast 5.1km long track has ten left and seven right corners, and a 968m longest straight. It was given the IRTA Best Grand Prix of the Year award after MotoGP’s first visit there, reflecting the riders’ and fans’ appreciation of the venue.
