The Ducati DesertX perfectly combines touring capability with high off-road suitability. To optimise the suspension of this premium-class adventure bike for the highest demands, Touratech Suspension offers the shock absorber Extreme and the Cartridge Kit Extreme.

The „Travel“ series in the Touratech Suspension range includes products that are specially designed for use in adventure bikes. The series is divided into the „Level 1“, „Level 2“, „Highend“ and „Extreme“ versions. As the name „Extreme“ makes it easy to guess, these shock absorbers are designed for the toughest conditions. Like their sister models, they have an extra-robust design with a generously dimensioned piston rod, low-friction, heavy-duty seals and high-strength strut eyes. In addition, there is a solid hydraulic spring preload with a particularly wide adjustment range, separately adjustable compression damping for the high and low-speed range, a piggy back for optimum cooling of the damper oil and a progressive damping system with a second piston to protect against bottoming out.


The shock absorber Extreme is now also available for the Ducati DesertX. With its unique features, this monoshock raises the suspension of the Ducati DesertX to a completely new level. The enormous reserves when riding with a high payload and the extremely sensitive response are not only impressive for off-road use. The high quality of the shock absorber also ensures maximum riding comfort and precise handling on tarmac.


The perfect counterpart to the shock absorber Extreme is the Cartridge Kit Extreme­. This closed cartridge replaces the standard inner workings of the fork and combines the suspension and damping functions in a single unit. Rebound and compression damping are just as adjustable as the spring preload. Despite maximum reserves against bottoming out, the Cartridge Kit Extreme also has highly sensitive response characteristics, even over the smallest surface irregularities. With its careful tuning, this premium upgrade ensures high-precision handling on all routes.


For riders who want to use their DesertX on rallies or expeditions with particularly demanding off-road passages, Touratech Suspension offers an individual configuration of the shock absorber Extreme and the Cartridge Kit Extreme with a 30 millimetre increase in suspension travel following a personal consultation. 


And now some good news for people who value particularly secure ground contact with their feet: both the Cartridge Kit Extreme and the shock absorber Extreme are available in a version for lowering the DesertX. With these two components, the seat height can be reduced by 25 millimetres without having to accept any significant loss of off-road capability.
