EPA and spring: existing original parts are used
The Touratech Suspension EVO UP upgrade for the rear shock absorber of the BMW R 1200 GS / R 1250 GS allows the use of the brand new electronic shock absorber of the EVO range in conjunction with the spring and electronic spring preload (EPA) of the original equipment.
“Because it’s possible to carry on using the spring and EPA, the EVO UP upgrade is particularly recommended for motorcycles with relatively low mileage,” explains Touratech Suspension Product Manager Jo Glaser. “You can set your machine up perfectly for a planned adventure trip or simply give it a significant plus in suspension quality”.
Semi-active damping adjustment at the highest level

To begin with, there is the new electronic valve, which processes the signals from the vehicle’s own sensors with unprecedented precision. Whether onroad, offroad or on rapidly changing road surfaces, this suspension system reacts in real time to all eventualities.
The low friction seal combines the best durability with a low breakaway torque, ensuring sensitive response in all riding situations. The new Hyper Flow damper piston design, which suppresses oil foam formation even at very high damper speeds, ensures consistent performance even under the most extreme loads. And with the convenient adjuster for compression damping, individual and reproducible suspension setups can be realised very easily.
