Indian Motorcycle has revealed the second of three Forged Indian Scout customs. As the latest episode sees series host, Roland Sands, and Forged builder, Brittney Olsen, take a journey to Nashville to present Olsen’s custom Scout to its new owner, American country music star, Nikki Lane.

Since founding 20th Century Racing, Olsen has been a leading figure within the female riding community. Championing the women of American motorcycling from the early 1940s and 1950s, Olsen’s inspiration for her Forged Scout build came from Cecilia Adams, a woman that Olsen has always admired and hopes to emulate.

“Nikki’s Scout is so on point with Cecilia Adams’ bike because her bike was fully custom,” said Olsen. “Nikki’s bike is fully custom from the front to the back. There wasn’t anything we didn’t touch. It is 100% representative of the entire movement, not only Cecilia Adams, but all the women Sport Scout riders in the 50s.”

Sands could see the connection between Olsen and Lane immediately, “I think something that’s really cool about this collaboration between Nicki and Brittney is that they’re both just fiends for vintage, antiques, twenties stuff. I don’t think that you could have picked a better person for Brittney to build a bike for than Nicki Lane.”

Sharing a similar story to Olsen, Lane’s history of motorcycling starts with her parents as her father was a motocross rider supported by her mother in the pits. Attributing her wild side to her parents, and the fact that she shares a birthday with the legendary Evel Knievel, Lane sees motorcycles as her form of meditation.

“I realized that I’m not good at meditating,” said Lane. “But that’s as close as I’m going to get. It takes me to another place mentally. It allows me to free up my mind, look around in a different way, and get away from this busy life that you can tell we have going on here.”

“Obviously, if you know about vintage biking culture, you know about Brittney Olsen. I had a feeling it was going to be reminiscent of her bike. I had no idea that once you made those modifications, all of a sudden, it looks like an old bike. That’s hard to do, it’s hard to do right, and I think that Brittney’s done a good job of putting those pieces together to build a really cohesive, vintage-style modern custom.”

Hosted by Roland Sands, the six-part Forged series highlights how customizers were always in the minds of Indian Motorcycle’s design and engineering teams when developing the all-new Indian Scout to make it the perfect canvas for self-expression. Each Forged build is rooted in a historical figure, machine, or era of inspiration taken from Scout’s storied 100+ year history.

The final episode of the Forged video series will reveal the finished build from Ronna Norén. Subscribe to the Indian Motorcycle YouTube channel to watch episodes as they are released: YouTube.com/@IndianMotorcycleEMEA
