Since its inception in 1989, SHARK Helmets has worked closely with motorcycle racers and uses this first-hand feedback to help develop the entire helmet range. To help celebrate its 30th anniversary, SHARK Helmets has announced it will be headline sponsor for the french round of the MotoGP championship for the next three years. The annual race will now be know as the “SHARK Helmets Grand Prix de France“.

Boasting nearly 70 World Champion titles in its trophy cabinet, SHARK’s mighty fin adorns this season the gear of no fewer than three racers competing in the MotoGP category: five-time world champion Jorge Lorenzo, the World Championships runner-up Miguel Oliveira, and the French racer Johann Zarco with two world champion titles to his name.

All SHARK racers have since the beginning of the 2019 season been wearing the new Race-R PRO GP FIM Racing #1 model. This equipment, designed with a state-of-the-art racing architecture, is the world’s first helmet to be certified compliant with the FRHPhe-01 Standard in all size categories*. This newly-released FIM certification will become mandatory as of June 2019 for all MotoGP and Superbike racers.

SHARK is pleased to announce that this top-of-the-line helmet will be available on the market as of April in a carbon skin version. This new model will be showcased on the brand’s stand within the “SHARK Helmets Grand Prix de France” village set up at the venue.

For this event, the SHARK brand will also be presenting other new items, including the Replica Lorenzo Winter Test 2019 proposed throughout the company’s network as a limited edition, with just 999 helmets being released worldwide. As a staunch supporter of French motorcycle racing schools, the company will take full advantage of the SHARK Helmets Grand Prix de France to focus the spotlight on the young generation and the champions of tomorrow.

The first SHARK Helmets Grand Prix de France will take place at Le Mans on 17-19 May.
