MOTO4U, an official main dealer for Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda motorcycles, has announced that it will launch the new Lifan LF1200 Ecobike to the Irish public for the first time at the Carole Nash Irish Motorbike and Scooter Show, which will run at the RDS, from 1st-3rd March 2019. With an impressive range of 120km on a single charge and a price of €2,699, the Lifan meets the growing demand for an economical and eco-friendly way to commute.
Trevor Baker, proprietor of MOTO4U, said: “When we started looking for an electric moped for the Irish market, we had a few criteria that we wanted fulfilled. We wanted a bike that would not only work in an urban environment but also had the capability of bringing the rider on a day trip out to the countryside. Basically, it had to have a good range, be easy to charge and was capable of been nippy around town when required. For us the Lifan LF1200DT absolutely fitted the bill. “
At the heart of this stylish and sophisticated moped is a BOSCH developed high-performance electric motor with 115Nm torque output, providing high efficiency and reliability across all speed ranges. The bike is designed with a concealed charging port under the seat but the battery can also be easily removed for charging indoors as well. It takes just 6 hours for a full charge which will deliver a range of up to 120km. The bike also comes with two chargers for the owners to have one at home and one with them at all times.
The Lifan LF1200 has cruise control available at the push of a button and boasts an EBS Braking Energy Recover System that captures kinetic energy generated during braking which is then stored for charging the battery, making this Ecobike 10% self-charging. The clear LCD digital dashboard shows speed, mileage and battery capacity instantly. The Lifan is available in six colour options – black, blue, green, white, orange and yellow – and have bright and efficient the LED headlights.
Ruth Lemass, organiser of the Carole Nash Irish Motorbike & Scooter Show, said: “We all know that electric scooters and mopeds are a very affordable, convenient and fun way to get around while at the same time minimising your carbon footprint. This bike is a welcome addition to the show, and will no doubt turn some heads over the course of the weekend. “
