FHO Racing BMW have teamed up with The Roadhouse Macau to support ex Irish Superbike Champion Brian McCormack in the ultra-competitive Bennetts British Superbike Championship in 2021.
McCormack, who is a popular rider in the unique Macau Grand Prix, has brought together the busy restaurant in this bustling city-state and local entrepreneur Faye Ho, for an exciting partnership in the 11 round BSB series. The partnership gives Roadhouse good visibility as main sponsor in this part of the FHO operation whilst the highly experienced BSB personnel will guide Brian though testing and the 33 BSB races to maximise his results.
Although a self-confessed roads specialist, McCormack will be focusing on the short circuit series for 2021, with good experience logged up in last season’s events. The Waterford rider remains the fastest ever Republic of Ireland rider at the Isle of Man TT, having lapped the Mountain Course at 128.812mph.
The Roadhouse Macau venue is known as the leading blues, bikes, rock and booze bar in Macau. Attracting motorsport fans and teams it offers a wide range of pub food, drinks from around the world and live music. The Roadhouse Macau will be the main 2021 team partner on Brian McCormack’s FHO Racing BMW machine.
Ciarán Carruthers from ‘The Roadhouse Macau’:
“We have been thrilled to sponsor Brian these past few years, both at the Macau GP and races back home in Ireland and at the Isle of Man TT. When the events of 2020 led to the opportunity for Brian to race in the BSB Championship we were delighted to continue that support with The Roadhouse Macau by On1 Racing BMW. However, without the support of Faye Ho throughout 2020 it would have been a far more difficult year for Brian and the team.
To now have the chance to see him ride for the new FHO Racing Team and continue to fly The Roadhouse Macau name as the team partner is a proud moment personally and we are all thrilled at what lies ahead for the 2021 season…and we can’t wait to have Brian, Faye and the team here in Macau later in the year!”
Brian McCormack:
I am excited to be given my first full season at BSB thanks to Faye Ho. Not taking this opportunity lightly, I have been training very hard over the off-season and staying away from the Guinness! I will then be prepared for pre-season testing aboard the BMW S1000RR. Dipping my toe in the championship last year I know how hugely competitive it is so the goal is to start by scoring points and moving my way up the grid. With the team and bike I have behind me, I am sure we can push for some good results this season. It’s been a hard pill to swallow with no TT, NW200 or Ulster GP this year. After being in the top ten at the TT for the last few years, I think with this team and bikes we could have done something special. I am hoping for a good year, finished off with a race event at the Macau GP. Huge thanks to Ciaran from the Roadhouse Macau for helping make this step.
FHO Racing BMW Team Owner Faye Ho
“We are really excited to be teaming up with The Roadhouse, somewhere I’m well aware of from Macau of course. We are keen to help them get great support and visibility on the bikes, social media and the TV broadcast throughout the season.
I’m also sure that Brian will massively benefit from the technical support from the rest of the FHO set-up, as the team help him progress in this extremely competitive series.”
