Akrapovič will embark on a fresh collaboration this season that will see the Slovenian exhaust manufacturer compete in a completely new racing championship as it becomes an official partner of Harley-Davidson®Factory Racing.
This new partnership will see Akrapovič supply full exhaust systems constructed from lightweight high-grade titanium and designed and manufactured using the latest technologies, all made in state-of-the-art facilities in Slovenia and created for Harley-Davidson® Factory Racing’s race-prepared 2024 Road Glide® motorcycle. Developed in close collaboration between Akrapovič engineers and Harley-Davidson® Factory Racing engineers, these bespoke exhausts have been created with performance and light weight firmly in mind.
Akrapovič and Harley-Davidson® Factory Racing will begin their relationship in the US this week at Circuit of The Americas in Texas, where the new collaboration will compete in the 2024 MotoAmerica® Mission King of the Baggers road-racing series with riders Kyle Wyman and James Rispoli.
King of the Baggers sees exciting competition between American V-Twin touring motorcycles prepared for racing and equipped with a fairing/windscreen and saddlebags. With a record of 176 world champions racing to their titles with Akrapovič exhausts on their bikes and cars in various series, the transition into this new championship will be based on the wealth of knowledge Akrapovič has gathered during over thirty years of racing experience on two and four wheels.
Miha Jeraj, Director of the Akrapovič Racing Department:
“After more than thirty years of racing in various series, including Grands Prix and world championship superbikes, we are entering a new segment of racing for us. We are highly motivated and excited as we team up with Harley-Davidson® Factory Racing to make the performance of the Road Glide® even better. It is a great honour for us to be partnering with such an iconic brand in its own country, and we are looking forward to this new racing chapter for the Akrapovič company and being a part of the great racing that Mission King of the Baggers offers to fans.”
