Akrapovič is delighted to announce that it has entered a new technical partnership with Honda Racing Corporation that will see the Repsol Honda Team equipped with Akrapovič exhausts in the MotoGP World Championship starting in 2023.

This new collaboration will be a multiyear agreement between the two companies, with the Slovenian brand becoming the official exhaust supplier to HRC in the premier two-wheel championship. Akrapovič and HRC will further develop the Honda RC213V exhaust system, and this union will create an alliance to work on advanced technology and engineering, with a racing passion and determination from both companies to fight for victory.

For the forthcoming season, a complete titanium exhaust system for the Honda RC213V has been created by HRC and Akrapovič, as the two companies look to add to their ever-growing list of championship successes together.   Akrapovič has been manufacturing motorcycle exhausts since the 1990s, and it has a proven track record of success in MotoGP, WorldSBK, EWC, MXGP, and other series. As with Honda, racing is in the very DNA of Akrapovič, and the Slovenian company has developed its technical skills on the track. Its first world championship title came aboard Colin Edwards’s Honda RC51 when he took the WorldSBK crown in 2000.

Tetsuhiro Kuwata, HRC Director – General Manager Race Operations Management Division:   “We are pleased to welcome Akrapovič as a new technical partner for the 2023 season and beyond. Akrapovič have an impressive record in a variety of racing formats and it is there, like Honda, where they have developed their technical knowledge. With this collaboration we will be working with them to further develop the exhaust system on the Honda RC213V as we strive to make steps forward. We are sure that this collaboration will provide success and further developments.”

Slavko Alojz Trstenjak, Head of Akrapovič Racing R&D:   “Expanding our cooperation with Honda Racing Corporation to MotoGP is a great honour and a further step in our partnership, which has already seen two WorldSBK world championship titles and several victories at the Suzuka 8 Hours. We are pleased that the Repsol Honda Team has identified Akrapovič, which has over twenty years of experience in premier class racing bikes, as a highly capable technical partner to work together with in developing an exhaust system for the RC213V.”
