The FIM Motocross World Championship completes its triple header in Faenza with more exciting action during the MXGP of Emilia Romagna, for round eight of the MXGP and MX2 championships. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli rode two consistent races to take his 91st Grand Prix victory in front of a cheering crowd of Italian fans and claiming the MXGP Red Plate, while in MX2 fellow KTM factory rider, Tom Vialle secured his second consecutive GP win in MX2!
The MXGP of Emilia Romagna was the perfect way to finish off a successful trio of races as MXGP was finally able to welcome a limited number of spectators that showed incredible support for the riders throughout the day. The race action was concluded with a special prize giving ceremony following the MXGP podium, known as the ‘Madonna dei Campioni’ that has previously been awarded to athletes from many international sports disciplines for their incredible achievements. This prestigious award saw Cairoli and Vialle take home specially made ceramic art pieces that are typical in the area here in Faenza.
The FIM Motocross World Championship will be back in Mantova for another Italian triple header as the MXGP of Lombardia, the MXGP of Città di Mantova, and the MXGP of Europe (ITA) taking place on September the 27th and 30th and October the 4th respectively.
