Boss-E Racing, one of the popular and colourful race teams in the Irish Minibike Championship (IMC) race paddock, are expanding for 2023!
Strabane based, Boss-E racing was set up in 2021 when Eva Mullen was the sole rider; for the 2022 season, the team branched out to give newcomer Robyn Coogan a chance to sample the delights of minibike racing on the tarmac, and for 2023, Boss-E racing will become a Three rider team!
Two new Junior riders have been signed alongside Senior Team Rider Eva for the 2023 IMC Season; newcomers Sonny Knipe and Katie Clint.
Sonny Knipe, who is at present five years old and attends Cookstown Primary School, is so excited to be joining the Boss-E Racing Team for 2023. Motorbikes have always been something Sonny enjoys, whether it be watching races on TV, racing on the PlayStation, going to the TT, watching his uncle Gary (McCoy) race, or out practising with his older brother. Sonny has been eagerly waiting to turn 6 to get his chance to don the leathers and get out on track to compete against the friends he’s made within the IMC paddock whilst supporting his big brother Boyd during his racing career.
Boss-E Racing Manager Tommy said, “It will be great to see these young brothers competing against one another in the BamBam class; I’m sure there will be lots of banter leading up to and after race events with these two because they’re determined to beat each other. The Knipe brothers are a pair to keep an eye on”.
The second signed rider is another Bambammer; 6-year-old Katie Clint from Ballywalter will also be making her Racing Career Debut with the Boss-E Racing Team. Katie is a well-familiar face around the IMC and USBK paddocks; you’re always assured of finding Katie supporting her big brother Callum at the USBK/IMC Rounds and, of course, her new teammate Eva at the IMC rounds! Katie carries a strong passion for the sport and is looking forward to finally getting the chance to participate herself.
There was no hesitation when she was asked if she’d like to join the Boss Team in the 2023 season. Katie says ‘she’s just too excited to put it into words; she can’t wait to get onto the track and beat the boys! Boss-E Racing Rider Eva Mullen said, “I’m looking forward to having Katie on board with us, another girl to fly the flag and show the lads how it’s done! She’s been my biggest fan since I started racing, and now, I’ll be hers!’
I’ve no doubt that both riders will learn and grow so much within the IMC, and I’m pleased that we have the opportunity to work with Sonny & Katie to start their racing careers; I’m sure they will both be stars of the future on bigger circuits!”
Team Boss-E saw the love Sonny & Katie had for the sport when watching their brother’s race on the track, so they just had to put an offer forward to have both onboard to start their race career in conjunction with Bean Mac Racing.
Team Owners of Boss-E Racing Eva Mullen & Tommy Galbraith also welcome onboard ‘Bean Mac Racing’ to work in partnership with their new team; ‘Bean Mac’, a popular figure within the paddocks of Irish motorcycling, has a wealth of knowledge and should prove a valuable asset to the team.
Boss-E will attend the Eikon Motorcycle Plus show (Lisburn) on February 4th & 5th, where you can meet the riders and see the team’s 2023 colour scheme, along with their newly designed team leathers, which ARN Race Leather/Riz Mike sponsors. So, make sure to come along to the stand and drop in for a chat.
